Regionals Tournament Competition Overview

Regionals format is a double elimination, IATC rules tournament with prize money proportional to the amount of throwers registered. The winner is guaranteed a spot in Round 1 of the 2020 IATC.

  1. The tournament is open to any registered league player in that division that has completed at least one season this calendar year (2019) in the particular region where the competition is being held.

    For example; if I'd thrown 2 seasons in a venue located in the Central Region this year, I would be eligible to throw at Mazhu Axes on October 6th. However, if I'd thrown in a league in a different region OR if I hadn't thrown in 2019, I would be ineligible for that particular Regional competition.

  2. Positioning within the tournament will be randomized;
  3. The winner takes a wild card spot in Round 1 of the IATC:
    • Once they have earned this wild card spot they are omitted from other IATC qualification:
      • E.g. Thrower “A” wins a regional tournament, guaranteeing their entry into the preliminary round and they also finish in the 3rd place spot for total champions points in their respective league. They are removed from that 3rd place spot, bumping the 4th place Champions Points earner into the 3rd place spot, and opening the 4th place spot for the next qualifying thrower.
    • Their average score from Round 1 will determine their seeding for the 2020 IATC.
