The International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF)

The International Axe Throwing Championship attracts some of the best throwers in the world.

Our year-round events culminate with this world-class annual championship.

In Round 1, over 1200 of the IATF’s top players (based on 2020 league standings) will compete to earn their spot in Round 2 (Finals).

In Round 2, the top 256 players will compete to win the Wilson Cup. This takes place during our annual All-Star Weekend.

All-Star Weekend

If you’re into axe throwing, you’ll want to get in on All-Star Weekend.

The 2019 season came to an exciting finish with the biggest axe throwing event of the year. Congratulations to IATC Champion Rander Marquez, winner of the 2020 Wilson Cup and $20,000! Our Annual All-Star Weekend also included the Winter Skills Competition, congratulations to Doubles Champions Nathan Ford and Jordan Maloney, to Around the World Champion Brian Starling, and to Mike Kump, winner of both Time Trials and Ambidextrous.

The weekend ended with our Axe Prom Dinner & Awards Ceremony. This year over 600 attendees gathered for dinner, dancing, and the presentation of the awards. If you’re part of the axe throwing community, you won't want to miss our 10th annual All-Star Weekend in February 2021. Check back here for updates.

IATF Announcement IATC 2021

Due to the impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the IATF is amending plans for IATC 2021. Uncertainties around safe travel; regulations on physical distancing with large groups/events; and the US / Canada border closure, all needed to be considered - and would have made an event similar to 2020 almost impossible given the circumstances we all have today.
